Top funk and party pop band Funkissential are wowing audiences the length and breadth of the land with their stunning musical performances. Journeying through the soul of the 60s and emerging into the heart of today’s music charts, they cover tracks from Bill Withers to Beyonce, and with their electric performances and eclectic mix of classic hits, they cannot fail to stir the most reticent of guests to get up and ‘shake their thang’ on the dance floor. Double fronted by soulful singers Lisa and Louise and backed by top session players on drums, bass, keyboards and guitar, the six-piece band can expand to a seven, eight or nine-piece band by adding saxophone, trumpet and second saxophone - particularly good for the larger audience.
Members of Funkissential have worked alongside many top artists including Muse, Republica, Bad Manners, The Selector, Ronan Keating, Feeder, The Wailers, Skunk Anansie, Wishbone Ash, Darius and Chesney Hawkes and gigged extensively throughout England, Scotland and Wales appearing at top London venues including The Borderline, The Garage, The Mean Fiddler and Jazz Café and also a performance at Glastonbury. They have toured Abu Dhabi, Denmark, Czech Republic, Greece, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland and Italy and recorded tracks that have been released in Europe, South East Asia and the US. Prestigious venues played include; The Orchardleigh Estate, Somerset; The Hurlingham Club, London; Kings College, Cambridge; Celtic Manor Resort, Wales, and Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abu Dhabi.
The band usually play three 40 minute or two-one hour sets, with recorded music during their breaks and full PA and stage lights provided. They can also supply musicians from a solo pianist/guitarist to a jazz quartet for the earlier part of a reception. A full DJ service which includes dance floor lights can be added for a modest additional fee, usually around £100.
